topic Combine cut a component from another complex component of components... in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Hello,

So, I'm probably still low on my learning curve, but yet I was already happy where I got, but I'm stuck at this very step.

I have a spiral based design. Itself based on a spring of course. And now I have to cut "windows" on the walls. I tried pattern on path but that would rotate the cutting shapes so that they loose their "horizontality". Then I decided to do a pattern on circle, and I started to move up the remaining 15 windows (on 16) to get my first loop correclty. I then made these 16 components a 'floor' component which I copied two times for each of theù 3 "floors" in a final component.

With history tracking, I'm very happy that I can change the shape of the initial "window" shape and that it would reflect on all of them.

Bu I'm stuck with the cutting. I need the "green" to cut the "brown". And I cannot combine the "super component" with it. Is there a trick in the timeline that would repeat the component cut to the brown component everywhere?

Or another solution? I'm sure there is. But I wonder also wich is the best one ;-)?

Thanks!

File: f3z file

The most convenient way to give us your file is to:

1. Save your file.

2. Export your file to your computer's hard drive as an Archive (.f3d file).

3. Attach that .f3d file to your next post.

You must show all the cutter bodies in the window.

Use Modify > Combine > Cut - select all (48 cutter) Tool bodies 1st, then select target body last, I did not keep cutter bodies.

Might help....
