I accepted your suggestion as the best solution as this is a more parametric variant than fixing the angle. Both however do indeed result in a fixed position

Both thanks for your help!

Coming from SW this is my first project using Fusion 360.

I am trying to model my house and I am stuck on how to position a set of windows on a "curved/segmented" wall, see image below. Started my window component on the left window as shown below I'm able to position it exactly how I want using sketch relations. My problem is with the other windows.

Making a copy of the first window component I now have to use Joints to position my second window. In SW I would make a coincident mate between the two side edges, and another mate to make the front faces parallel.

The first 'mate' I recreated using a Revolute-Joint between the two edges. My problem is on how to define that last degree of freedom (the rotation). Using a "parallel mate" would solve this but after watching numerous videos and websites I am still out of luck.

Consider mid points of the rail and the face of the brick, sq or parallel to the edge of the block,

there are position offsets to use, but revolve joint is not one I would use.

I realigned the second window as I suggested, but it does not match the first window?,

slide both back on the wall with the offset value, for the styles to align.

Edit, Wall blocks are not symmetric, so over to you....

Might help....

I think this is exactly the point of my problem. There is no direct relationship between the wall and my window. If you look at Sketch1 of the wall you will see how I 'dimensioned' the wall around the window, but not necessarily using midpoints or other types of relations.

Aligning the styles of the windows and then align the front face parallel to the wall would be the satisfying result for me 🙂

Ok, change your joint to rigid where your joint is, then rotate offset is 180 - 165.975 deg.
