Hello,

Hope you are keeping well and safe. I have been trying to simulate one body colliding with another, however the body seems to pass straight through the other body ( I have attached an image). I made one of the bodies fixed and gave the other an initial velocity.

Kind regards,

Aadam

Hi @Anonymous

I can think of two possibilities:

The bodies have passed through each other because you did not define contact between the bodies. (Without contact, there are no elements connecting the bodies. Without elements, there is no means to transfer a load from one body to another.)

The bodies have not passed through each other (yet, they need to move farther), but the displacement is exaggerated by a factor greater than 1. (In a linear analysis, the deformation are normally so small that the displaced shape needs to be magnified by some factor, such as 10x or 100x or 1000x. I have not checked Fusion, but I would think that it is possible to exaggerate the displacements in an event simulation, too.)

Is one of those suggestions the solution?
