How to extrude at an angle?

I am trying to cut/extrude the inner quarter circle down at an angle. When I choose extrude, it either extends outward or inward on both sides at an angle, but I wanted to both side to cut at the same angle as shown in the red marker below.

you can only extrude at a right angle to the originating plane of the profile. you can set up a sweep, and sweep at what ever angle you like in a way that resembles an extrude. but I don't think that's what your looking for here. in the attached I did a revolve/cut and then extrude/joint to shape the ends right. is this what your want?

You will probably have to use the Loft command instead of an Extrude command. You will use the top sketch you have, but create a new one sketch on a plane at the depth you want the cut. This sketch would have the new interior shaped side.

I'm pretty new and I'm trying do make a simple chess bishop. When i wanted to extrude the slit in the top, at an angle 45 degrees, I couldn't.

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Sweep would be a better choice for this. Attach your file if you need more help.

Hi,

I think some of the Gurus here are overthinking the problem. Here is what I came up with.

Just create a Plane at an angle outside of where you want the slot. Draw a sketch of the slot. Extrude cut into the

body you want.

Took only a couple of minutes to set up and get it in the right place but much less hassle than lofts and such.

@Drewpan good answer, but isn't it great if we had an option inside extrude to give an angle for the same profile?
in this two parameters will involve
1. In circle(planar) angle
2. 3D angle

Extrude as a new body. Draft the sides. Combine/Cut.

Hi! You may use Ruled Surface command in Surface tab to create a protruded surface in any direction at a distance. Then create an offset workplane and use Boundary Fill to solidify the surface.

@findeisen_do - This is what happens when you reply to an old post with a new question. not everbody will catch that you changed the question, and aren't trying to do exactly what's in the first post.

from your question (post 4) it sounds like your trying to put the slot in a bishop that looks like this-

soo you probably did a revolve-

so next you would do a basic extrude-

We'll need you to come back and give us more info if you need something different than that. always a good idea to include pics of what your trying to do, and a model of your attempt.
