Hi,

If a fillet has to be added to a leg, it must be defined in design mode. You cannot use a tool profile from the Manufacture Environment database.

günther

Hi guys,

I'm new to Fusion 360 manufacturing.

In woodworking, we have tools for molding design already done.

The thing is I can design the form tool to put it into my library.

The problem is I want to use this tool into the design of my leg for furniture making. So I need this profile into a sketch. Is there a way to do this?

I've tried copying the tool sketch into the leg sketch, but the copied sketch does not retain constraints.

So the only way I found is to redraw the profile each time. Doing things this way is not efficient.

Thanks in advance for all your help

Stéphane Rivette

Have you tried inserting the design you made with the tool profile? When inserted it will be inserted as a component you can position using a joint then use in a sweep, extrue etc. Only problem you might run into is if you don't have a team hub you'll break the link to the cutter design when you insert.

Just add, I'm assuming you're using the form tool option and you've kept a library of your sketches for backups?

Create a profile sketch in a new file.

Create User Parameters for each dimension.

Save.

Insert Derive into the model file.

Use a joint to position the tool profile sketch.

Open User Parameters dialog.

Click the star for each parameter you want to use to add them to the Favorites.
