Sketch - How to modify constrained rectangle?

Reviewing documentation, having trouble understanding how to modify constraints using the Move/Copy command. With Sketch15, I need to change the height to from 1.0 mm to 2.0 mm and move up 1.0 mm.

Would I need to create another line as the second point where in order to move? Sorry for my confusion.

Hi,

The upper line is constrained to the floor surface by projection. You can either remove this binding or create a new line.

Having a problem reproducing your solution. Step using Collinear constraint fails. Selecting the first line does not attach the 2 points. So trying the other side fails to complete the line.

Questions: refer to attached pic

1. How did you move the offset sketch the axis? is this the reason I can't reproduce your solution?

2. How did you hide Sketch 3?

3. Are my preferences for viewing need to change. I see your display is much better?

I have not used collinear constraints.

1. first I deleted the upper locked line (green).
2) I created a new horizontal line and set the spacing to 2 mm.
3. then I connected it to the existing vertical lines with the “Extend” tool

it is already switched off in its original state

When you are working on the sketch, you should hide the solids behind it

My bad it looked like you were selecting the collinear symbol. I didn't have the extend selection on my toolbar like you have. Now that makes sense.

I just need to dimension the height = 2.0 mm. Also need to move that up flush to the enclosure base.

I'll work on it tomorrow if i have any questions.

Should i check off "accept solution" wait until i finish? I'm assuming you still can answer questions accepting the solution.

Wow Betreff, how your able to ascertain this kind of depth with 3D modeling is mind boggling.

I guess the take--away is first delete the sketch and redo instead of trying to manipulate what is fractured. Plus the fact the design for this was not correct since any change to other parts affected that.

thank you for your time and knowledge. I got long way to go. I need to take a course in 3D modeling now that I'm retired. UDemy and Autodesk has courses. Or do I need something even less specific for tools vs. basic understanding 3D modeling?
