Exploded View Animation Workspace

Hello. I am new to Fusion 360. I am trying to create an exploded view animation of a simple assembly. I have verifed (I think) that all of the bodies in my design are set as components and one or all of the components are selected before I attempt to explode them in the animation. However, I still receive the error message no components to explode. Can you help me figure out where I went wrong. Images are attached. Thanks.

That happens because you are selecting only one component. You should select all components you want to explode and make sure those components are together ( I mean those components have contacts between each other). If you want to "explode" only one component then it is a transform, you should transform the component ( I mean move it). 👽🖖

Thanks for your prompt reply, I really appreciate it. However, I had tried to select all of the components, with no luck. Any other ideas.

Yep. Check the little windows that appears there. It tells you components are separated. You only can use "exploded" when they are in contact. So maybe this is your problem. Check if they are making contact, if not you should use "transform components" or fix your problem and make contact with your components.

Thanks for your response. I'm not sure what you mean by little boxes that show they are separated. Nor do I understand how they can be separated or can be fixed since they are. The objects were joined together, wouldn't that make them not separated? Would you mind to clarify?

As can you see, it tells you that components are already separated. IIf you want to use auto exploded your components have to be in contact (maybe with an interference) or some parts of the components have to pass through other components.

I made another example here. We can say these components are in contact, but Fusion says they are already separated.

Look this another example: The cylinder in the hole is really not in contact but Fusion allows you to use auto exploded, but only the cylinder is available to explode.

So maybe this can give you an idea when you can use auto exploded.

An option you can use is Manual explode or Transform components

In the manual explode, you should select the direction and distance of your preference.

Transform components are almost the same thing but it has more options to choose.

That was very helpful, thank-you. Do you mind if I ask you one other question. I am creating a drawing of this object. I wanted to add a text note to the drawing. I was able to add the text, but cannot figure out how to get the box around this text. Do you have any ideas? The text is below in blue "students enter note here". Thanks.

One option is to create and sketch and only draw some lines to create a box.

The another one is (and the I think the best way to learn more about how to edit the title block) is Editing the title block.

so you can edit it since zero or if you already have one cool from existing

This workspace appears to edit the title block. It is better if you add that "students will add note here" here because your title block will have this by default.

And as you can see it the same process, only draw some lines and that's it.

When you're happy with what are you done, finish the title block and that's it.

Box is there now.
