Removing Multiple Fillets

Hey, I am new here and learning. I have some files created by someone else in Catia. These are .stl files and load just fine. I am able to do what I need.

I am however having some issues. The guy who made them when into great details with fillets in some complicated areas. There is alot. The issue I have is in order to remove the fillet I must remove all of the "chain" so to speak of fillets in that area. I understand that but its often not clear what need to be highlighted.

I need to remove alot of this as I need to alter the design significantly. Is there a way to choose a "chain" of fillets automatically as I am not sure what I need to remove?

Excuse my non "technical" terms here. I am new. I do understand that you cannot remove just one part of a fillet, but I dont know what all needs to be removed to do what I need to do if that makes any sense at all.

Stl is the worst possible format they could have given you..

There are no fillets in a stl file - only planar faceted triangles.

Ask them to give you STEP, IGES or even native CATIA format.

from the description of what the OP has done so far, I would guess there was a typo and he meant .stp. Hopefully @Anonymous will post a model, or at some pics so we'll know for sure.

I am doing a short screencast now, I will have it up here shortly. I apologize. I can’t share the file on this one but I will share some detail. Even if I could find a way to remove all the fillets, I can re-fillet what’s needed after I make the changes necessary.

Here is a screen cast. This is one of the less complicated models. I need to remove all the fillets you see so I can make some slight tolerance changes. It wont allow those changes with the fillets in place. When I attempt to remove what I think is needed to clean a edge I get the error "Cannot delete individual faces" or "Error: The selected faces could not be deleted. Ensure that faces are only selected from a single body, and that no duplicate or invalid geometry is included in the selection."

delete fillet by fillet you don´t want.

Yeah my thoughts exactly however it doesnt seem to matter what I select or if I select it all it errors out.

Have you tried the 'Find Features' command? It might make it easier to select the fillets for deletion, supression or adjusting the size.

I have, it doesn’t find very many of them. It’s rather frustrating. I wish fusion would show me the chain of fillets needed to removed what I want. I feel like it’s a guessing game.

below is a example. I did figure out how to remove it but those in the other screencast are proving to be a pain.
