Cannot select faces for Embossing

I'm following a YouTube tutorial on how to deboss text on a rounded surface. However, when I select the text, go to create, then emboss/deboss, I can select the sketch, but I CANNOT select the face.

This is killing me! I searched this forum and found another case with a solution. I tried that solution, and it did not work. Please help! Need to get this file done so I can print for a birthday gift! 🙂

The reason you cannot select the Body is because it is a Mesh Body and not a Solid. Since the conversion will generate hundreds of face segments, direct Embossing will not be possible. This is a simple model, use the mesh as a guide and model it from scratch.

Do you have any suggestions on how to do that? I'm completely new to 3d modeling. I did not design this file. I was sent the file. Thanks! 🙂

I have attached your model with the Embossed Text using a backward sort of a process. If you want the Text to stand out further from the body, modify the Emboss command in the timeline. If you do, be patient, it take a long time to update. Model attached.

Thanks. I downloaded the file. Also, I'd like to deboss this (have the text go *into* the object as opposed to extruding out). However, you said to go to Modify and then Emboss/Deboss, but I don't see those options under Modify... thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it.

Sorry that I missed the "Deboss" note. Due to this fact, the original model cannot be used. I have attached a new one for your use. Please not, the depth of the Deboss is -4.0 mm. If you want to change it right click on the Emboss feature IN THE TIMELINE and change it there. You are limited to the depth by the wall thickness of your model. As I mentioned before, be patient if you change the value, it takes a long time to update.

This is great! One more question - I'm trying to move the text in the deboss UP on the model (I'm using the one you sent over), but every time I try to move it up, it moves the entire model. Any help there by chance?

You need to learn to ask all your questions at the same time! How far up do you want to move the Letters? I ask because it is very complicated and obviously you do not know Fusion enough to execute what I show you.

I apologize, haha! Could you do two different placements? On one, I would like the text centered with the same spacing between the top and bottom, and then also one with the text slightly more higher (maybe 30-40% in from the top)? Again, thank you SO much, and I will absolutely accept the solution once you finish this one. I won't have any more questions, lol!

The two models you requested are attached. You really should give me a double "Accept Solution" as you even made me do the math to find the placement! Since you gave me a range, I chose 35% from the top. If you are going to continue using Fusion, please learn a little more about it.
