Sketch tutorials show - you don’t need the grid,

draw the 2nd rectangle in about the necessary position, then constrain as desired, and dimension what can’t be constrained. Sketches that are fully constrained are most stable, and highly recommended.

Might help....

Hi,

I'm new to Fusion 360 and I'm trying to move away from sketchup for all my new drawings. The issue I'm having is that when I draw say a 2x4 (rectangle) as a main post, and I want to attach another 2x4 (rectangle) say 24 1/2 inches from the top of the other, how do I do that? I don't see any markings that say where my rectangle is at while I'm drawing it. I know I have the grid to snap to, but is that all there is? Right now I'm just drawing the second rectangle, measuring the distance between the top of the first rectangle and where I want to position the second, and then moving it. Thanks in advance.
