As can be seen in the uploaded image (I had to use phone to photograph tooltip because screen grabs ignores tooltips)

The tooltips on my MacBook Air are squished down into the history timeline. This causes a severe usability problem because the user can't click through the tooltip. The user has to either wait for the tooltip to disappear in five seconds or very carefully click the few pixels below the tooltip to select the item (much easier said than done)

This doesn't happen on my desktop machine (23" widescreen monitor), but only on my MacBook Air, so its probably an issue with scaling the interface.

This happens on my 15” MacBook Pro a well and has been reported as a bug. It is indeed very annoying!!!

@Phil.E any update on this issue ?

Thanks for asking. No update.

For the time being, do not use full screen view. The issue is only seen while using full screen on mac. There really isn't any way to avoid it other than that because these are not tooltips in a proper sense, they are not controlled by tooltip visibility preference. There is no way to turn them off.

I'm testing the macOS 11 beta and find that the pop-up does not interfere with selecting or editing the timeline node, fwiw.

I see. More specifically, the tooltip squashing only happens when you switch to full screen at least once. Even if you switch back, they are still squashed. This probably isn't unrelated to the fact that sometimes when you switch full screen desktops the menus widgets (like the browser) will temporarily follow you while the app doesn't.

The rub is, if I don't use full screen mode, fusion 360 doesn't fit on my screen!

I'm a little baffled. MBA/MBP are some of the most popular and famous laptops out there and nobody noticed that the app doesn't fit on the screen? Doesn't anybody there on the dev team even use a MBA/MBP?

Ok I did get it to fit. What I was seeing was another case of how mac "full screen" was discombobulating fusion. Once you come back from 'full screen' you cannot even manually adjust the sides to fit, it never gets small enough. Even divvy doesn't work right. The only solution is to double click the title bar.

This is really a shame since full screen and desktops are a great way to optimize the mac interface for laptop sized screens. Now that you can't even remove the giant toolbar in fusion anymore it hurts even more.
