I'm not sure what the "2" and "3" pictures are showing, but it safe to say from the "1" picture that it is not a surprise that the thread fail. The geometry at the top will aways cause issues. I would split the cylinder face at the indicated place, if that is the result you want. Otherwise, use the approach suggested by @laughingcreek , and put the threads on a separate body, as "outer" threads, and try subtracting them from the model. Do you want "modeled" threads, or cosmetic threads?

Hi I am trying to put some threads on my generative design outcome after removing some holes (due to constraint geometry). As you can see in Fig.1 and 2, the error says "Fence edges cannot be repaired after unblend".

Fig. 3 to 5 shows why I had to removes some faces on the body; the generative design outcome generated an extension from my preserve hence my screw thread needs to be longer. If I do not remove those highlighted patches it will be very difficult to secure a fastener.

Is there a way to resolve this? Thank you in advance.

why would you do that, I believe in this thumb rule, when i do any simulation with component i suppress thread, Because threads makes unnecessary calculation. we can use any mechanical handbook.

@Anonymous - might need to see a model to really help out. is there any weirdness going on inside? can you tap a solid cylinder body first, and combine it in after?
