split a curved wing from mesh

Totally new to fusion. I need to detach the curved wing piece from the main body to manipulate separately then put back together. I need to extend the wing along the body, ie make it longer. There are other things i need to do, but spitting is the first part. I'm learning how to do different plane cuts etc, but wasnt sure what the easiest way would be to do this since its curved.

In that case, do NOT work with meshes.
