Best tools for making a custom hole/cup/pocket in a solid object for a vertical planter

Hello,

So my goal is im trying to make some nicer vertical /stacking planters from the 3d printing spools.

Unlike some of the ones that already exist, i want to mostly enclose the soil and have holes/pockets similar to some of the vertical hydroponic planters.

the idea im looking for an closest i have come to getting the shape i want is from exporting the main mesh out to ticket cad and doing a boolean operations to get the cup/hole shape im after:

the core profile for my mesh comes from fusion and looks like this:

its a 1/6th of a circle, i want to have 6 plants come out of the planter.

im not sure the right direction to go from here, i seem to get stuck, one i have made a hole/ or cut through the solid or surface, trying to get the new mesh or cup to line up correctly on the external portion of the mesh.

Ideally i want to learn to do this in fusion, so i can modify it to fit a range of spool sizes i have.

As I start to work on this - I notice that this sketch is missing a lot of dimensions.

As I add the missing dimensions, I note that these two arc radii are different. Is that the true Design Intent?

I think I am almost there - but need to verify dimensions...

Note that my sketch is black - indicating that it is fully defined.

Edit: I just realized that I made a mistake, but let me know if I am on the right track before, I fix the mistake.

Yeah that is pretty close, ideally i want to have more of an oval/elliptical shape, but this gets me closer.

yeah im not sure the correct way to make them the same, i was just trying to see how that tool works when making the arcs to try, i had trouble getting the curve to snap from the right angle shape to the curve so i had a solid part.

From the looks of your file, thanks for making tit, i i need to change the way i think about or preform the actions to get the final shape im after.

your essentially doing the booleans at the beginning, so it doesn't matter that they dont line up with the out side surface for the cup, because you use the rest of the sketch to cut out the holes.

if i did want more of an oval type shape a wider cup , how would i achieve that?

if i did want more of an oval type shape a wider cup , how would i achieve that?

Use an Ellipse on the top plane and revolved.
