Hi Brian,

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. Yes, I believe if I select the outer edges of the face as rails, it's gonna fail just like you attached above, but as you saw in my video, I didn't select the outer edges, which should be fine either ways, and the loft worked by itself after doing something irrelevant to what the script did ... but your reply already gave me a hint to try something out so thanks again.

Inconsistent Behavior

Hi,

I've been creating scripts for a while now, and sometimes I create a script with no issues what so ever and yet Fusion acts strangely ... and by strange I mean that I get a message that says there is a failure in a certain tool ( although nothing is wrong ) and then when I keep working the issue is just solved by itself!

This might be hard to understand so here is an example attached for a script that re-lofts faces giving them a more uniform iso curves ( it's a pretty long script but the video attached explains everything in a simple way).

I'd love if such inconsistent behaviors are solved as soon as possible because it's such a pain to try solving a problem that is actually not happening ...

Thanks, Saeed.

for some reason I can't attach my screencast telling me that I exceeded 100000 letter when I didn't type except 1 line ...

Any ideas why?

Can you provide the model that demonstrates the problem? I believe this is an issue with either the loft command or the modeling kernel but we'll need to have a simple reproducible case for them to look at.

I ran your program and the problem surface in the part and am getting the same problem you're seeing. I manually tried to create a loft using the curves generated by your program and I get the same results but it points out where the problem is.

I also noticed is that the outer boundary curves are not included in your set of rails. I manually created a new loft and this time included them as rails but ran into the same problem but this time it was clearer where the problem is, as you can see below.

It seems there are some problems with your curves.

Hi @BrianEkins,

This is a question regarding the same matter, so I didn't create a new post...

I made a much simpler script to extract iso curves from the surface of a selected face on both directions U and V, and then created a loft where the U iso curves are profiles and the V iso curves are rails, and it worked nicely on some faces, but on other faces I had a problem ...

All faces generates curves along the U direction, so the U curves are perfect for all faces, but for some reason some faces just generate one curve along the V direction...

Any ideas what went wrong here?

it's the same example I attached before

Thanks, Saeed.
