Change Parameter Question

So is there a way I can use "Change Parameter" with Patterns? I tried making a Parameter labeled outcirclecount with a numerical value of 24. When I entered outcirclecount in Quantity for Edit Circlular Pattern, it went red and wouldn't let me hit okay. It is only letting me put in a numerical value. I have a bunch of parts that are all on different planes, where I need to change the overall size. I am trying to figure out a way I can quickly change the Pattern qt so I don't have to go and manual do it for every part. Any ideas?

I looked at the data but couldn't find a parameter called “outcirclecount”.
Also, there's an error displayed on the timeline, and I don't know what part it's referring to.

Is this even a question about using the API?

I would say yes. I'm curious why I cant use a custom parameter in the Circle Pattern function. Im about to try it in the Rectangular Pattern function after I do the latest update. If it can be, or if a script can be made to make it happen, or if I am just going to have to manually adjust the circles for each one of my parts every time I make a different tooling version?

So yes, it doesn't work in the Rectangular Pattern either. Quantity has to be a numerical value, no letters so a custom Change Parameter can't be used.

I made a parameter. You can test it by making your own parameter. You can
do it just by making your own circle in a drawing, making a smaller circle
somewhere close to the outside edge. Make a parameter with what ever qt you
want with what ever name. Then just try entering that name in the quantity
field of the circle pattern. Doesn't work. Ill try in a little bit to
resend a file if need be. Thanks.

I'm guessing that the problem is that the parameter you're trying to use for the quantity is the wrong unit type. By default, when you create a new parameter, its unit is the default distance. For a quantity, you need a unitless parameter. You can choose "No Units" in the drop-down list, as shown below. With the correct unit type, it should let you specify that parameter when creating or editing the pattern.
