Is it possibel to control the export of an STL at this time? If so how, if not, is it going to be part of the API?

You can export designs as STL by right clicking on the top node of the design in the browser and selecting Save as STL. This will allow you to save it directly to your local machine. Does this help?

Hey Dirk,

Currently model export is not supported in the API. I believe we are still planning to support some export cpabilities in the release this month. I will let you know when I have more info.

Export STL - multiple bodies

I'm having trouble exporting my model to a STL file. I have two bodies and I can go to the browser and right click on one of the bodies and I see the Save as STL option. But I want to save both bodies as one STL file. When I right click on Bodies in the browser (this is the parent of my two bodies), there is no STL option.

Are you wanting to do this in the UI (as you explained your workflow) or through a script? If it's through the UI you need to select the parent component of the bodies. In your example it would be the root component, which is the top-level node in the browser (Soap Dish Bracket v7).

I want to do it in the UI. I didn't know I had to select the very top. Thanks.
