topic Tool library scripting--where to start? in Fusion API and Scripts Forum

I am new to scripting Fusion 360, although not new to programming. I want to write an add-in that keeps my Fusion 360 tool library synchronized with an external database. I have skimmed the API docs, and not found anything that refers to tools or tool libraries.

Is this even possible with the current API? If so, can someone point me where to start exploring?

I have seen some posts about generating the undocumented JSON format expected by the import facility. I'll go down this road if I have to, but it's not my preferred route.

Very little of the CAM functionality is exposed through the API. Unfortunately none of the tool library capabilities are exposed.

Bringing up an old thread. Is this still the case? I have a similar need and would like to access the tool library through the API

The CAM team has been doing quite a bit of work to expose more API functionality. Although there is still quite a bit of work still to be done, including tool library functionality.

This help article gives an overview of what's currently available.

http://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID-7F3F9D48-ED88-451A-907C-82EAE67DEA93
