I was able to get a fusion assembly into simscape multibody! I have described the process here. I used the plugin available on github, imported as a rigid tree body to matlab, then imported that rigid tree body into simscape.

Hi all, i'm looking for a script or a plug in for fusion 360 which do the same thing as inside Autodesk Inventor...simscape multibody link:

https://fr.mathworks.com/help/physmod/smlink/ug/installing-and-linking-simmechanics-link-software.html

Here is the process to import:

https://fr.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sm/ug/cad-translation.html

It can be great to do the same thing can be do With Onshape!:

https://fr.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sm/ug/onshape-import.html

Thank's in advance

Eric 😉

I really like this idea,

We have chatted about it and time permitting ill take a look at it, It certainly doesn't seem impossible and we already have sections of code that will export entire assemblies into custom meshes so taking it a step further wouldn't be too difficult.

This idea has been posted around on slack so we will see where it goes I just thought I should post here to update you that it is possible in my opinion and I see certainly think it would be a valuable inclusion into the app store.

Hi,

Great news!

Hope it appears soon inside Fusion 360

Many thanks

Eric

Can you help me!

Regards,

Yatish

Hello @Anonymous ,

I'm not very familiar with the different inventor workflows but it seems like the plugin you mentioned should enable the export of a solid body.

As a quick reference I took a look at this link. https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/smlink/cad-link.html

I think the document properties in inventor are probably isolated from what it exports however I'm not certain. It might be worthwhile to ask on the inventor forums as well in case someone has already made a solution in private and maybe they can share it with you. Or possibly if there is a similar software that can be adapted.
