Hello all,

What is in your experience the best practice to bring people/cars/trees into FormIt for scale or visualization purposes?

I saw in “FormIt Ideas” section a suggestion for face-me objects. Has anything improved in that area for new FormIt versions? I would like to have a similar possibility as Sketchup does – to create components with “Always face camera” option. 3D geometry takes too much space and is heavy on the model.

Has anyone found a nice workaround for this?

I think revit can support more surfaces than sketchup.

it's not a problem for me.

Hi @AleksandraTalko-Baskervill-Gdansk-PL,

In case you didn't know, you can import or open any SKP file into FormIt, so you can keep using the SketchUp content you love, even from the 3D Warehouse.

As for face-me capability, we don't offer that unfortunately, so that's one thing that will be lost when converting to FormIt.

I'm not sure if you're using the latest version of FormIt, but we have drastically improved performance in the past several releases, and even the file size should be smaller after a change we made a few years ago.

Otherwise, for 3D content, you can also try converting heavy entourage to meshes, which should both improve performance and reduce file size.
