When trying to import from Formit to Revit I get this wrong message (See image)

Hi everybody!

someone might have had the same problem as I:(

I have modeled this building in Formit 360 as you can see in the first picture. I also built some railings that I chose to be masses,. I made the lowest one, grouped it and then array'd the rest of them. (I have seen other people so this on YouTube) but when I try to import the file to Revit 2017 I get this message "A serious error has occurred, It is strongly recommended that you use save as to save your work in a new file before continuing" (see the third picture)

I also saved the "building model" from Formit without the railings and imported it to Revit but I do not get the "wrong" message then.

Does anybody know why this is happening?

Great analytical technique to import without the railings to see if they were causing the error!

The error is being reported when creating families for those railings - so it isn't affecting the RVT file, just the RFA creation process.

Why the error is being triggered is another story? I don't know why without seeing the file and analyzing the geometry.

FormIt has a few tools added that help with geometry fidelity analysis - try turning on Display Watertight Issues and Display Back Faces (DW and DB keyboard shortcuts). This will highlight any geometry that may not translate to Revit successfully. I'm guessing there's something there with DW that will show up. If you'd like to post your file I can take a look.

Once again Tobias, thank you so much for your expertise!

I turning on Display Watertight Issues and Display Back Faces and found the problem. There were some "faces" missing on the railings. and when I re-did them it worked fine.
