topic From a Sketch up file with multiple components to Formit, how do I add them to my library and/or a project after conversion? in FormIt Forum

Hello, I am learning Formit after years of using Sketchup. I am trying to bring all the library of accessories (furniture, lighting fixtures, planters, etc) that I have to use it in Formit. I created a file with all these things, multiple components, and then transform it to formit files but how do I take each of these elements/components to use it in a different Formit file where I have already modeled the space?

Hi Eliana,

Thanks for trying FormIt!

You can use the Content Library, and point it to a local directory of files that you want to place in FormIt. You can see an example of Content Library usage here.

In the latest version of FormIt, 2021.2, you no longer have to convert the files to FormIt's file type to see them in the Content Library. However, these files won't have thumbnails if they are not .AXM (FormIt files). But if thumbnails aren't critical, this could save you time, by not requiring the conversion from SketchUp to FormIt just to see the files in the Content Library interface.

Hope this helps!
