Hello,

In Forma Site Design, data ordered through the Data Marketplace is placed in the Library and automatically added to your canvas as its own layer once it finishes downloading: https://help.autodeskforma.com/en/articles/6996465-add-contextual-data

I don't have a help article confirming why removing that item from the Library doesn't also remove the layer already placed on the canvas, so I can't explain the mechanism with certainty, only confirm that the auto-add-on-download behavior is expected.

That's useful feedback on the workflow, including the idea of previewing data before fully importing it, and keeping placed layers in sync when their source is deleted from the Library. I don't have visibility into whether this has been raised before, so I can't confirm that part, but it's worth flagging through the feedback channel so the team can consider it.

If this answered your question, please consider marking it as the solution. It helps others with the same limitation find the answer more easily.

Hello there, I noticed that new contextual data is automatically added to the site.
Though we can't remove them automatically when we remove them from the library.
It seems counter intuitive.
Have you received feedback from users that say that they would like to preview their data without fully importing them first ? And also that data layers should stay connected to the site, delete the layer, delete what is on the site ?

Yeah, if you don't need that data anymore, just removing it from your library should ask you if you want to remove it from the canvas.
