Hello team Autodesk Forma.

in the new generation can we have the possibility of importing multiple sources?

I recommend that it is possible to import the same formats as autodesk infraworks, in addition to allowing raster images to be automatically inserted in the corresponding geographic location, it is also very important to import autodesk coordinate system engines.

Clasic

Hey!

Thanks for this note, it helps a lot to understand what is important 🙂
For now we have limited the imports to only .obj and .ifc since we want to ensure reliability on smaller number of formats before exteding the file format pallet.
As for Geo-Referencing - It is one of the things that we are currently looking into introducing into the product

What type of data are you looking into importing?

I just want to second this request. I have had people in my firm chose to use classic because they were unable to load in a PDF or CAD file of their concept to use as a guide for modeling. Having, at bare minimum, the same import functionality in next gen, as was available in the classic should be a priority.

As in my case, I tried to explore the beta but when I saw that import limitation I went back to the classic, this issue must be a priority, thank you very much

Hi, If we are working in Revit and Autocad mainly for our housetypes and we want to include these in forma is there a workflow for importing these in (I have heard of people using the Revit link to forma, but it sounds more to be used site wide rather than for modelling individual houses?) any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

So as I work in housebuilding we mainly use AutoCAD for all our surveying requirements such as levels for existing and proposed. What I would like to do is import an autocad survey to give a more specific grading of the land in Forma so I can get a better idea of how the houses will lie on site. Once I’ve got that I’d like to export to Revit to work up the site in real world coordinates.

If we get a surveyor to send over an existing plan the cad is normally node points that are situated on a Z plane to give the contours. I’ll give those a shot and see how that turns out, thanks for your assistance.
