Posting a new question would have been preferred. The questions are mostly general in nature and not specific to the original topic.

The non-legacy chart's Statistics Collector can be accessed by installing the chart components. The collector will then appear in the toolbox together with any other tools that the chart might use (often times a group to define which objects it tracks).

1) The statistics collector creates a row on model reset, when the content will of course be zero. I see this as a good change: If you have multiple similar charts, their axis all start at 0 instead of at different points in time depending on when the first item arrived, making it easier to compare values at the same time.

If you want to remove this point, install the Statistics Collector as shown above and delete the "OnReset" event in the Events tab.

Yes, the number of points is the number of rows in the Statistics Collector table. No, there is currently no way to display this value as part of a line chart.

2) It's not a difference between minutes and hours but between model time and date time. The legacy chart uses the model time, meaning the number of time units since model start. The "new" chart uses the datetime, the hour of day and date. The axis scale will adjust based on the time frame it encompasses, for example only showing days or even starts if weeks.

If you want to use the model time, change the settings for the "Time" column to the following.

3) Colors being assigned to wrong values can happen if the chart settings were incorrect at some point. I would need to see the model to investigate further.

4) Those charts look like they plot in a regular interval. Meaning if the other queues have staytimes of zero that would be added to the graph in the chosen interval.

Again, I'd need to see the model to check what type of chart you are using there and what settings you made.

[ FlexSim 24.1.1 ]

Hello
In the attached model, the goal is to understand the number of completed orders in a Jidoka system versus a non-Jidoka system, as well as to observe the process times of each process and the occupancy of the buffers preceding each process.

As a result of updating the statistics of the object properties, the "input vs time" option is not available, as indicated by @Jordan Johnson in: https://answers.flexsim.com/answers/144684/view.html.

Despite obtaining a valid result using the solution from Jordan, I can only see it in table mode. The line view doesn't work for me, and this solution only allows viewing in separate tables/graphs, not unified ones.

I have tried to follow the instructions from @Felix Möhlmann in: https://answers.flexsim.com/answers/117431/view.html, but I can't get the results to display as they do in the Legacy graph of the Dashboard (Legacy).

Could you help me understand what I am doing wrong? Attached is the model.
In the attached model, I have tried to create a combined line chart (from "Base Chart Types") for the two sinks. I also tested it with just one sink, but it doesn't work for me.

Additionally, in the Dashboard (Legacy), a legacy line graph can be seen for the number of completed orders in both systems. Is it possible to obtain a table with the final values at the end of the period? It can be inferred that they fall in the same values as observed in the tables of the Dashboard (current), but I wanted to know how to view the combined data of both sinks in table mode.

20240729_CP11_libro_FlexSim_Jidoka_1.fsm

Here's the model with an updated Statistics Collector. It is important to understand how charts in FlexSim display data from a collector's table. You tried to create a table with one column per sink. What you need though is one column that denotes the sink and one column for the value. The chart only plots data from one column over another column. You can split this data into different colors by using a third column that differentiates the rows from each other and whose values will be used in the chart's legend.

(The only chart types that can plot multiple columns per row are Bar or Pie charts.)

20240729-cp11-libro-flexsim-jidoka-2.fsm

Yes, the Output chart is not available as a legacy chart. I didn't know this was important. It does show what you asked: the total input into both sinks in a single table.

Hello,

In your example, "None" also appears in Event Value, but in your model, that error does not occur. What I did was delete "None" and upon applying it, "None" was rewritten automatically. I also did another test by manually rewriting "None". With both tests, the error message mentioned no longer appears.

I don't know what was wrong, but now it works fine.

Felix, I wanted to ask how I can better understand how to configure these

StatisticsCollector.getID(data.rowValue)

Is there any guide, practical cases, tutorials, or more detailed information to learn how to handle it?

(Add a chart to a dashboard, then install its components through the Advanced tab in its properties.) I haver personally learned a lot about the possibly approaches to building a collector that way.

Hello
Thank you very much for the guidance on training, it's a topic that interests me and I would appreciate any information or learning path that could help me.

I would like to keep adding questions about the static collector regarding this model I have shared. I’m not sure whether to continue this thread or start another one. I will add the questions here while awaiting your advice on this matter.

In the model I’m sharing, there are two Dashboards: Dashboard (Legacy: red-colored graphs of the main values) and Dashboard (Current: blue-colored graphs of the main values). In the Current Dashboard, I am trying to create the same graphs without using the General Legacy graphs: Tracked Variable vs Time. The methodology of the book I am following suggests creating the different graphs by accessing the statistics from one of the objects (by clicking on the pin) and from there accessing the statistics collector that is supposedly generated, making various modifications to configure the graph. The issue is that in the version I have (24.1.1), when I create the graph (for example, of the content) from properties → statistics, no statistics collector is created.

Is this due to the version? The cases are designed for version 23. I have resolved the case in two different ways:

I created the graphs from the different graphs intended for this: “Content” or “Staytime” and added the rest of the objects with the dropper to represent the data of all objects in a single graph.

I created the same graphs using a statistical collector and using the “Time Plot” graph from the Bases Chart Types section.

So far, everything seems fine and I have apparently achieved the same results, but I wanted to clarify some doubts regarding this:

1- In the NOJIDOKA Process Time and JIDOKA Process Time graphs (generated through the "Tracked Variable" graph by clicking on "pin Tracked to Dashboard").

I get a similar result between the Legacy and the Current, but in the Current, there's a strange result where the first point is marked at 0.0, whereas in the Legacy it starts around minute 45. How can this be corrected? In these scatter plots, can the number of entries be visualized quantitatively without generating another table chart? Would it be the number of rows in the static collector, which should coincide with the number of completed orders? Can this sum be visualized in this scatter plot?

2- Another difference I observe between the Legacy and Current graphs is that in the Legacy, the X-axis is expressed in minutes, whereas in the Current, it is expressed in hours. How can I change the units?

3- In the “Items in NOJIDOKA Buffers” and “Time in NOJIDOKA Buffers” graphs, created using the statistics collector in the “Colors” section of the properties, colors have been assigned to both the “columns” and each of the obtained data points. Can this be corrected in the collector's configuration?

In fact, in the one @Felix Möhlmann helped me create, “Pedidos completados” something similar happens. A color has been assigned to: “Entry JIDOKA” “Entry NOJIDO” “0.0” They are not represented in the graph, and I don’t know where or when they were defined in the collector.

4-In the “Time in NOJIDOKA Buffers” graph, there is a noticeably different representation compared to the Legacy graphs, and even to those created directly from the Staytime section. It only assigns the times to the queue “PCBs_NO_JIDOKA.” The rest of the queues have a value of zero; this is also seen in the “standard” graph, but they do appear, at least in the legends.
What do I need to change in the configuration so that this looks the same or at least all the queues from the collector appear in the legend?

Thank you very much for your response. I have attached the model to go into more detail.

I have managed to configure the content graphs of the queues from the statistics collectors as you indicated; I just had to add the rest of the queues to the group that is automatically created.

1- Regarding the section on resetting the point displayed at 0.0 on the graphs with the On Reset event, I didn’t quite understand it. The statistics collectors for the graphs that do display this point at 0.0 do not have this event created. Anyway, I tried creating it, but I didn’t notice any change in the graph. The point still appears at 0.0. Is there any additional configuration that needs to be done?

2- About the issue of how to display the "time" data on the X-axis, expressed in minutes. I can manage this on the graphs that depend on a statistics collector. These are the graphs that are created directly from the library and show the X-axis "time" in date and time format... And I don’t know how to change it to be in minutes (of simulated time).

As I mentioned, I have attached the model to delve into the rest of the points.

3- Assigning colors to additional objects in the graph (I only want colors assigned to the objects of the queues).

4- Displaying all involved queues in the legend. Even if the queues don’t have events... The other graphs created from the library assign a value of 0 to those queues.

Thanks in advance for your comments. Do you think it’s appropriate to now move these questions to an independent query? It’s no trouble for me.

20240801_CP11_libro_FlexSim_Jidoka_1.fsm

I think it would be better to post these as individual questions and clearly mark which chart/statistics collector they pertain to. There are a lot of charts in your model and it's hard to know which ones are working as intended and which ones are not.

In regards to 3): The extra colors were probably added because the chart was set to split the data by the time and/or y-value. Once a color is assigned it will stay in the color palette if not deleted manually.

To speed up the deletion process you can try to find the node where the colors are stored, right click it and select "Edit -> Designate This Node (so)".

Then run the following in a script console:

"so().subnodes.clear();"

Here's an example path the colorNode of one of the charts.

MODEL:/Tools/Statistics/Tiempo en los Buffers NOJIDOKA_con Statistic Colector>variables/localPalette>variables/colorNodes
