picking boxes without reducing the stock in racks

[ FlexSim 24.2.3 ]

My question is about the possibility to picking boxes from racks without reducing the stock in it. because my model is quite large the simulations are very slow and I'm looking for to reduce the initial stock in racks. To do that I need to pick the boxes without reducing the stock in the rack. Is that possible ?

Yes, it is possible to do this, but the approach depends on how you are working whether directly in process flow or in 3D. Here's a brief example: in this case, the arrival and departure of products are controlled directly in 3D, but the replenishment of items is managed through the process flow using an event-triggered source. Each time an object leaves the racks, a token is created, which then triggers the creation of the item in the rack from which it was removed. I hope this clarifies things.

You could even do picks without creating initial inventory at all. Assign SKU labels to the slots as discussed in your previous post (but without creating any items). Then search for slots rather than items when picking and create items on the fly to place them there.

I think I understand the logic but I dont know how to implement it correctly in the model. In particular, I dont know how found slot works and where I have to move the Object. Maybe you can help me !! thaks WAREHOUSE AS-IS PRELIEVI 5 op.fsm

For the most part it works the same as the option to find an item in the storage system that is used in the "Find Item By SKU" activity in your model. Crucially though, it also allows you to assign the found slot to an item right away, so the item will be placed accordingly when entering the rack.

To move the item, you can get a reference to the respective rack from the slot.

When you create the item the slot is not known yet, so "token.Slot.SKU" does not work. The SKU is present on the token though, so use that.

You assign the found slot to the label "Slot". In the Move Object activity you wrote used my version with a small s.

You also have to adjust "Record Item onto Parent". The label value is not a Storage.Slot.Item class value anymore but the object already.
