Thank you Felix, I didn't expect such a quick reply! This solved my problem entirely and I'm surprised it was so simple. I didn't think that the solution would be to connect the conveyor itself to the Control Point, but still keep the A-connect from the Exit Transfer to the destination as well. Now it all works fine, thank you.

Behavior when connecting Conveyor Transfers and Control Points

[ FlexSim 23.0.8 ]

Hello all,

We noticed that when using the mouse to connect a ConveyorTransfer and a ControlPoint, the behavior changes depending on the order of the clicks.

When a ControlPoint and a Transfer are clicked in order, the connection is made.

However, when a Transfer and a ControlPoint are clicked in order, no connection is made.

This occurs for both EntryTransfers and ExitTransfers.

This behavior is strange because most objects can be connected to a ControlPoint regardless of the order in which they are clicked. If it is not designed, we would like to have it corrected.

Thank you.

Hello,

I unfortunately only have access to FlexSim 24.0.2, but it sounds as if only this bug has been corrected and not the overall functionality of the connection.

My question is, does the A-connection (blue line) between the exit transfer and the AGV Control Point actually work as intended in your case? I'm using the Advanced AGV Template and I always get the error

FlexScript exception: Invalid Control Point Connection Access at MODEL:/Tools/ProcessFlow/AGV/Assign CP>labels/2/2

as soon as an item arrives at the Exit Transfer. I do the standard procedure of clicking Use Transport and pushing it to the AGVWork List, like always. When putting a queue behind the conveyor, connecting it to the Control Point and clicking Use Transport, it works fine. I don't understand the different behaviour, since I would expect that the conveyor is just a "fancy" queue in this case and the exit transfer just describes its output port. Am I missing something?

I hope I made my issue understandable and would really appreciate some help with this issue.

That's due to how the AGV Process Flow template works. If you were to refer to the AGV directly (or through other means like a centerport connection) in the "Use Transport" field, the task would work, because the Exit Transfer will be pickup location in the task sequence.
The AGV template however uses the object the item is current inside as the pickup location. Which is still the conveyor.

So in short: When using the AGV Process Flow template the connection must be to the conveyor, not the transfer.
