The Staff Destination for activity 2150 tries to reserve "Police" when there is no space in InterviewArea. Patients can only reserve (and later travel to) Patient Processing type objects. You might need to control the starting of activity 2150 until there is an InterviewArea open.

[ FlexSim HC 5.3.6 ]

Hello,

I am trying to create an activity which is supposed to happen in any location within an area. I have 10 exam rooms, and I would like the staff to go to any of these rooms to start preparing for the exam, while the patient is waiting in waiting area. I see that it is not possible to create an activity without patient in an area, only in a specific location. Does anyone have a suggestion for this?

(The same problem occurs when I want the staff to stay in the room to clean up after the patient leaves)

I could make all my exam-rooms as one location, but I don't think that will work well visually.

I am happy for any suggestion on how to solve this.

Best regards from Lene

You can specify a process activity occur at any location, not just the patient's location. I've attached an example model that a nurse preparing a room after the patient arrives in the waiting area. The room that the nurse chooses to prepare is reserved for the specific patient and then the same nurse who preps the room will escort the patient to the prepared room.

Thank you for responding to my answer. It worked for a while, but something strange happens after around 40 patients have exited the model. It seems to us that when more staff make requests for a room than number of rooms available, the model crashes. Can I send you the model?

You can attach the model here. Or if the model is sensitive, ask a new private question and attach the model there.
