In the Patient Destination field use the Based on Destination Status pickoption. You then list the different areas/locations in the order you want them considered and set it to use First Available.

Take a look at this example model.

[ FlexSim HC 5.1.0 ]

We are building out an OR and have two bed areas - one for Pre Op beds and one for PACU beds. When the Pre Op bed area is full, is there a way to have the patients use the open PACU beds? We also want to be able to do this in the reverse circumstance as well i.e. when the PACU beds are full, the patients can overflow to the Pre Op beds.

You should ask this as a separate question. Asking a new question in a comment on an olde resolved question is likely to have your question go unnoticed. When you post your new question, can you clarify what your asking? Do you want patients to immediately stop what they're doing in the overflow area and move to the preferred unit?
