Emulation of a database

Hey guys

I'm wanting to do an emulation getting data from a database (SQL Serve) but I don't know where to start. If there is anyone who can help me where I should start studying and what are the steps for me to be able to do this activity, I would appreciate anyone who can help me on this journey.

Are you saying you want to simulate the client server database communication and network packets along with the server's database retrieval processes on a multithreaded CPU. Or do you want to emulate something else using live data that you will get from a SQL Server database?

t would be the second option I would like to emulate live using data from a SQL database it serves. Is it possible to make this application ?

Anything can be done in software if you can specify what you want and can spend the effort it will take.

Your question raises many more including why you don't use OPC and/or what coding skills you have available along with your assessment of the need to an immediate trigger-based notification when the database has an update or insert, or whether a database polling interval would suffice.

You should probably talk to your University academics in the appropriate fields and/or to FlexCon who are FlexSim emulation experts.

Hi,

as pointed by Jason you need to be more specific in what you need.

If you need to get data from a database for feed you model you can use the database connector available in FlexSim to retrieve the data.

If you need to get data from another source you can use one of the available protocols in the emulation module, include the industry standard OPC UA.
