Robot Pick n Place 8 Items at a Time & Push to Carton

Hi,

I am working on a stacker packer concept where I am stuck at the robot functions & pusher. Below is the full process.

1) Products come on Input conveyor & gets indexed on Indexing conveyor at certain pitch. This is continuous operation & input conveyor should not be stopped while transferring products to indexing conveyor.

2) Once 8 products accumulate on indexing conveyor, robot will pick STACK of these 8 products at a time and place on stacker area.(I have used 6 axis robot for this but actually this operation will be done by 2 axis parallel manipulator, which I can not find in Flexsim library)

3) 3 such stacks of 8 products are placed on each other. Then pusher will push these 8X3 stack at a time in 8 cartons.

My application looks close to below one.

I have created layout for this application just need some expert help for robot picking, stacking & pusher station.

To point 2. A crane behaves similar.

Yes right. I did not add crane here as it looked odd for this application & I am not good at changing appearance of crane. I am going through toutorials for that.

Hi @Dinesh P,

I developed a bit of Process Flow that adds in some animations and things to accomplish what I think you're describing. Let me know if this works for you and then if you have any specific questions about the logic. I am mostly using Event-Triggered Sources and loops to control everything.

Thanks a lot @tanner.p for quick reply.

One important thing I want to achieve is picking layer of 8 products at a time by robot & place on stacker area. So robot will pick 3 such layers & place on each other to complete stack. Also is there any way to change color of those 8 cartons we pushed stack into.

@Dinesh P,

I've updated your model to reflect those changes. I'd recommend learning Process Flow so that you can adjust and add to this logic. There are tutorials available in the User Manual and if you have specific questions, you can ask them on the Answers forum.

Hopefully now this does what you'd like.
