[ FlexSim 21.0.4 ]

In the previous releases with the old conveyor visualization, when connecting two pieces that are perpendicular, the conveyor would automatically tapper and merge to the side of the main line. On the 2021 release, since we have moved away from the Render, the conveyor does not handle connections nearly as well. I have issues with material transferring over the top of one another now.

You can switch between render and non-render in the conveyor system properties accessed via the toolbox:

I see no difference in behaviour between it being on or off. Can you describe the issue some more?

Turning Render on and off does nothing for me either. I have altered the visuals in the conveyor properties window to draw belt and side railing to no avail.

As far as my issue here, In previous versions with the full render conveyor, the conveyor "trims" it self depending on how you are connecting to another piece of conveyor. In this version, only straight pieces trim and they are difficult to deal with. Previously you were able to connect a curve conveyor and it would contour itself to transfer to the straight piece you are attaching to. now, it connects in only the two ways i have pictured above. This makes for incorrect transfers and creates difficulty merging lines. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this.

Not quite. In the previous versions I have, you can see where the conveyor merges it makes a nice connection (Ref: Previous-Conveyor_2). The curve it self trims and the merge transfer is right at the conveyor edge. This is very close to have physical conveyor looks and operates. Now the curve conveyor only merges two ways (Ref: Current-Conveyor_2). The first option shows the merge transfer right at the edge of the conveyor but visually the curve does not contour to the edge of the straight piece. The second option shows that the merge transfer is in the middle of the straight piece because the curve is laid over/in the main conveyor. The first option works for the transfer but visually does not look like it is right. The second option does not work at all because the release point is in the middle of the conveyor you are trying to release to.

But if you turn on rendering with the connector at the edge then it does contour to the conveyor nicely as shown in the render picture I showed. In fact it does a better job of that than the older versions - in your picture you can see a gap between the rollers and the side of the conveyor.
