change flowitem through processor

[ FlexSim 21.2.4 ]

hi all, im trying to get it so that the flow item going into a processor changes to a custom item when it comes out. it doesnt really matter to me what goes in (could be a box) just what comes out is important to me. i have already created the custom flow item just the part where the processor changes to it is hard to me.

for example i would like it to start as object a and change into object b when it comes out of the processor.

can anyone point me in the right direction on where to look for this option?

Hi Kylian, can you provide an example model or some more details? Such as: do you want to preserve any labels on the existing flow item? Are you using Process Flow or 3D only? What is different about the custom flow item, just the shape or also packing strategy, animation components, etc.?

@Kylian K Usually in these situation you only want to change the way a flowitem looks. And flexsim gives multiple options to do that. If you add an onexit trigger to the processor and you select the option visual you find the options Change 3D Shape or Change Shape Frame. hi thanks for your reply, how do i use an onexit trigger? where do i find this? to use the change 3d shape option? because when i use the shape frame option, it changes the dimensions of the item i want to change the box into.

hi i have added a screenshot of what i mean hope it makes it a little more clear.

have tried it through change shape frame but it changes the dimensions of object b to the dimensions that object a has which it shouldnt in my simulation.

You can add On Exit in the Triggers panel of the processor:

and after the change shape, use the "Visual --> Set Location, Size or Rotation" action to set the size as well.
