topic Create a fixed Resource with a defined CAD model in FlexSim Forum

Hi all !

is it possible to create a Fixed Resource, let's say "Milling Machine MM65" and assign it a CAD Model (with 3ds, step, igs.....) ?

With this, just by draging and dropping the new Fixed Resource, the machine will look like the real one instead of draging and dropping, going into properties for each dropped machines and change the 3D appearance.

Best regards,

@Sébastien B2 Hi this is definitely possible in different ways. I think the easiest is to drag in a fixed resource, change everything so that it is exactly the way you want it and then right click -> edit -> add to user library. Then you can save that userlibrary and load it (even automatically) and have your objects available for you.

Other options are to take a look at the Flexsim SDK and create your own objects from scratch. Or you can create a dropscript and put that in the tree (also with the use of a module) and in the dropscript you create the object and do all the changes you want to do with scripting
