[ FlexSim 16.1.1 ]

I followed the instructions on https://cloud.flexsim.com/index.php/s/URPBK0QhfeZ0CGg to create a bone animated object that I imported into Flexsim. I want to eventually use this to animate an operator sitting, typing, talking etc.

To start off with, I simply completed the steps to animate my character to walk to a processor. Once I imported the character into Flexsim, her orientation was wrong causing her to walk side ways like a crab. I tried rotating her in Flexsim, but as soon as the animation starts, she is rotated sideways and walks sideways again. I also tried rotating the character in 3ds max before exporting and importing into Flexsim, but once I import it into Flexsim, the orientation is wrong once again. Please help. Here is my animated character exported from 3ds max. womanwalk01.fsmwalkingwoman01.3ds

I have also attached a basic Flexsim model to showcase how she walks.

Hi Stephanie,

You need to edit the size and shape factors in the operator properties. You can copy the values found in a default operator on the General tab of its Properties window. After you change these values make sure to set the object reset position on your custom operator so that it does't revert back to the sizes set earlier.

To make this process easier, you should copy the .xbx file in C:\Program Files\FlexSim 2016 Update 1\fs3d\Operator\OperatorFemale_LowRes\OperatorFemale.xbx to the same directory as your custom operator, and rename it to womanwalking01.xbx. That way you won't need to manually set the size and shape factors every time. See the first comment in this answer for more information on .xbx files.
