You can use the crane to assist during processing. There is an option to pick up an operator for setup or/and for process. It looks weird to use a crane for these tasks, but a crane is of the same class as an operator. That is only the half of the answer. The crane must become a tagged resource. You find that in the option where you choose the reference which task executer is doing the transport or processing job. It is on the Flow tab or on the tab named as the object itself.

But the tagged resource approach is only one solution, the others need more knowledge of Flexsim to build logic - by Process Flow, creating customized tasksequences or writing source code. Please read the comments here, too.

[ FlexSim 16.1.2 ]

Hello (me - always having problems with those cranes),

I wanted to ask if there is a posibility to let the crane wait till the processor he has loaded, has finished. I failed at finding a solution for this problem. I have attached the modell where I have this problem. The crane should wait until the processor has finished, but instead, since there is a other processor wainting for input, he unloads the first processor and continues to load the second processor.

One idea I had, could be that the processor sends a message to the crane on the entry of the item, which triggers the crane to wait, till the processor sends a second message which would "wake him up". But sadly I am not familiar with coding in FlexSim...

Thanks a lot for your kind help.
