[ FlexSim 7.1.4 ]

question1.fsm

Hello Guys, I have built a simulation, the area where I am finding a problem consists of 5 separators, 2 dispatcher, 2 operators, 7conveyors and 2 processors. Here I have aligned operator 1 to dispatcher1(dispatcher centrally connected to separator 2 and conveyor 3) and both the operators to the dispatcher 2, which fire them to its central port (connected to a processor 1 and separator 3). Operator 2 is centrally connected to the separator1, 4 & 5 along with processor 2. I couldn't figure out how to prioritize the operators to function on a separator completely. As the operator gets utilized during the process of a separator, it moves to other separator for its process without transporting the split parts of the separator. So guys can you help me out to make the operator process and transport the parts at single separator at once then move on the other separator.

@Adrian

If you want the Separator to use the Operator for transport, simply open the Properties window for the Separator, then go to the Flow tab. Then check the "Use Transport" box. Operator1 will then be utilized to move the objects.

Actually my concern is to utilize the operator on first priority to process on the Separator, second priority to transport the parts from separator and third priority is to move to the next separator. In the current model, Operator moves to the other availavle separator for its process wiothout transporting from the last separator whom it has processed lastly.

@Trex I was able to see what you're referring to. What you can do to solve this problem is to use a "Tagged Resource." For example, when you tell Separator2 to Use Operator for Process, select "Tagged Resource" from the drop down menu and leave the "Hold" value as 1. Then do the same when you Use Transport in the "Flow" tab and set the value to 0. That means that when the "tagged" operator processes the item, the "Hold" will fire and see if there are other tasks to perform. He will then perform the other task as the "Tagged Resource" until he is released by the "Hold" value of 0. I made the changes and have attached the updated model.

It worked out 🙂 But as I was using the 7.1.4 version of flexsim , I was unable to open your model. But I understood the logic. Thanks for your support.
