Conveyor Decision Point

[ FlexSim 22.1.1 ]

How do I send item 1 to many conveyors (upon availability), while item 2 to one conveyor at the end? I attach my unfinished model just to show how it looks like. the smaller crane at the end is for 1 type, while the other 4 cranes for another type. the item keep sending to one conveyor. do I use sensors? if so, how do I setup the sensors? Help, this is only my 2nd model for flexsim. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Farah_najihah A,

I was able to send items to different conveyors like in your model by using decision points. I have attached a model that shows how I set up the decision points to do this. The first decision port will send items with a type of 1 to the last conveyor, but doesn't do anything with items of type 2. The second decision point sends items to one of three conveyors based on the outport connections.

I wasn't sure how you wanted to account for availability, so I just assumed that all items would flow into a separate queue. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

Hi again @Jacob W2 , btw, may I know what is the reason for the decision point where you set the trigger set label "blocked"? is it sending message to continue conveying when the conveyor is full?

I was trying to find a way to only have one item in the lane and then have the items loop if the lane was unavailable. Blocked was just being used as a signaling label.

Does it means when the conveyor is not available, the item will just pass through the point and later came back since it is a loop? and will only enter once it is available? is that what you are trying to say?
