[ FlexSim 18.0.2 ]

Hello Flexsim community,

I would like to know what is the best approach to use to simulate the following:

I have a processor that has to follow a series of Breakdown, Ramp-up, Running, Ramp-down, Breakdown states over a period of 4 months. The series is not repetitive, but I have an excel sheet of the state of the machine at each time period during the 4 month. Inputting the breakdowns was easy as it can be set as a timetable in Breakdowns property. However, what was hard is controlling the speed (process time) during a Ramp-up and a Ramp-down.

Thank you for your answers 🙂 .

I recommend using a Kinetic Tracked Variable to control the speed of the Processor. A Kinetic Tracked Variable can have a rate, in addition to a value, so that the value can change continuously/linearly with time. You can listen to when that value arrives at or passes a certain value.

This is an Instanced Process Flow that you can attach to any Processor, to have it break down, ramp down, wait for a repair, and then ramp up to regular speed.

rampupdown.fsm
