Action not displaying media correctly. Just a blank white frame

No ideas what is happening here. I started up flame, imported media to a project and it plays from the desktop reels and looks correct. If I take any media into Action, then the BG, front and Matte, they all show as a plain white frame. No saved setup or anything legacy to anotehr session is going on, this is all I have tried to do today. Any ideas whats going on?

Flame 2023.1 on an iMac Pro.

Hello @perseus1,

Here are some thing you may want to check:

* Make sure the output is set to Comp instead of Matte (Look if you have Matte shown instead at the bottom-right of the viewport.

* Try to disable the viewport's colour management and diagnostics by clicking on Active/Bypass at the bottom left of the viewport. You may have cranked up the exposure in the viewport for example.

You could also try to connect Media to a different Action node to see if the problem is related to your particular Action node.

Hi

I checked Action output was not set to matte. I tried various things in colour management, disable it, have it automatic, set it to the same colour management as the ingested media setting.tried it in batch Action node, but noticed something odd in the batch schematic. Normally the clip thumbnail in the batch schematic has little coloured boxes running up the right side of the thumbnail (yellow/duh/blue for front/back?/matte, its these that connect to the other nodes in the schematic node flow graph thing. Well, they are not evident on this material for some reason. Never seen that before. Tried another project to see if its a Flame thing generally or in this project only. Its OK in another project, Action displays properly.

Tried loading a saved Action setup in the affected project and some media displayed ok, some was white out. Cannot make head or tail of it. No “Media offline” warnings or anything to indicate a problem sourcing the media. Media from the desktop reels plays fine in the player.

Makes no sense to me and its affecting the one **** project I need to get something out to a client.

This is not the last straw, but after a week of tech woes, its getting close 😛

Do you have a single grey socket to the right of your clip? If so, can you select it and press Shift-C to expand the channels. It could be that your clip is not connect to the clip's result socket but to its Matte.

No, no sockets visible at all.
I created a new project and brought the media in again, no problem at all in Action. If the project is corrupted somehow, then thats very bad news indeed as all my rotoscope masks are in that project.

Can you post a screenshot of the clip in the schematic you say has no socket?
