The Player doesn't use the same Compare workflow as Batch or the modules.

This used to be easy in Smoke, but now i'm using Flame I cannot figure out how to save an image into the Reference Buffer.

The manual has plenty telling you how to view them, but i cannot see one mention of how to save them so you can view them! I even tried looking in the keyboard shortcuts and theres plenty of viewing options and nothing for saving/creating!

Please - how can i save a reference image ???

Hi Adam,

As far as I was aware the reference grab function is mapped to CONTROL+G in the Flame keyboard shortcuts.

Once that is done, you should be able to use the compare functions to refer back to the reference.

Regards

Hello Adam,

To add to what Grant said, you can also use:

CTRL-B to enable / disable the Compare buffer in a viewport

CTRL-SHIFT-G to add an image to the buffer instead of overwriting the current one.

Press the 5 key on your keyboard's keypad (not the one above the R and T keys) and then use the 4 and 6 keys to navigate your reference buffer.

Also, you should be able to use the same shortcut profile you were using with Smoke in Flame. All the shortcuts you know about should work.

one more question on the same subject - why can't i grab an image to the buffer whilst i'm in the timeline? Should i be able to?

seems the only time i can actually grab a reference image is either when i am in an effect editor page (such as Colour Correct) or if i double click a clip to open it up, which makes for a less than fluid process.
