Lustre 2019.1 + Tangent Arc connection

Hello,

We are attempting to connect a demo set of Tangent Arc panels to our z840 Lustre 2019.1 system. Following recommended practices from best Autodesk and Tangent we have connected the panels via USB 2.0, probed our USB bus to ensure connectivity to panels, launched the Lustre application and created a new user. Unfortunately, we cannot establish connection, our Tangent Mapper does probe for these panels but does see Lustre as a support application, arc is not an option to be selected with our 2.2.1 version of Tangent Mapper

Perhaps we're missing a critical element or have outdated Tangent support software? Tangent recommends to reach out to application manufacture to determine their recommended Tangent Hub version.

Please let us know if there are steps we're missing.

Hello Andy!

Flame / Lustre installation takes care of installing the latest Tangent Hub software so you should be good to go. Since the Arc panel is new, you need to add it to the Tangent Mapper application following these steps:

-Log as Lustre or Flame user

-If Lustre/Flame is running, exit the application

-Start Tangent Mapper application (from Desktop icon OR from /opt/Tangent/bin/TangentMapper

-File menu / Panel Configuration

-Press Edit button

-Press + button and add Arc-Navigation, Arc-Grading and Arc-Function modules

-Press Apply

-Start Lustre or Flame

-Create a new user profile

-The panel is now read to be used.

If the Tangent Mapper shows an error message about not being able to see application, you should restart the service:

-In a shell, start Tangent Hub deamon

/etc/init.d/tangenthub restart

If the Arc panel shows Demo License required, you will need to update to the latest Tangent Hub application from this location:

http://www.tangentwave.co.uk/download/tangent-hub-installer-linux-64-bit/

The reseller must provide a demo license to you so you can evaluate the panel. License installation can be done this way:

- Go to File menu / Install Panel License

-Install the license

Thanks. The mapper configuration was the solve, had to add the Arc panels as there was not a preset default.
