Does flame student or trial version work on Mac OS Catalina ? ver 10.15.2 ?

I am a Flame/Luster artist formerly working in mumbai India for "famous digital studios" for 16 years as a smoke/flame/luster artist on linux platform.

now I have shifted my base to Tokyo, Japan and I recently purchase the Mac Pro 2019 that has Catalina 10.15.2 already installed and I cannot change it.
Problem is that after a fresh install of flame student version 2020 I am not able to see the media in my internal or from any external hdd. the thumbnail just shows - 'No media'
I have all the read and write permissions on the locations where the media lies.
I am facing the same issue when I tried to run the 30 day trial version of the software.
what am I doing wrong?
I would really appreciate any one helping me out.

also I need to know if I purchase a commercial licence in my county India, can I use it in Japan?does

HI halfrobo,

Unfortunately Autodesk does not provide trial versions for update releases & due to the nature of the changes in Catalina an update of Flame Family products was necessary (2020.3).

Fortunately for you, you seem to have an educational account, this will grant you access to 2020.3.

The no media issues you are experiencing is very likely due to the new Os level permissions on Catalina, please take a look at this tech article to remediate the situation.

HI Again halfrobo,

When purchasing a single user commercial license, Flame will request a sign in license authentication that can be used anywhere with an internet connection.
