why is my finish tool use z increment?

Perhaps you meant to write..... "why isn't my finish tool using z increment?"

If that is what you are referring to, then you will want to place a Z increment value in the finish operation in the milling tab.

If this isn't what you are asking, please give us some additional information.

Also, if this does solve your issue, please provide a solution so may help others with the same inquiry.

No, i didnt put any value in z increment so why is it doing .200 step

Hi @ddube25

Your finishing operation is not cutting with 0.2" increments, your roughing operation is.

Take a look at this video..... https://autode.sk/3v4cucC

You'll see that depending on what operation you select, the milling tab will contain different parameters. When I click on the roughing operation, you'll see a .2" increment for Z steps. In the finishing operation, there are no increments defined.

When i play the simulation the rough do .200 increment and after that the finish do .200 increment too. Its weird because if i make the same program on my co worker pc its not doing .200 incr. , Only on mine

Hi @ddube25

So, when I loaded your fm file, I was using my tool crib.....my mistake.

Once I loaded in the tools from the fm file you supplied, I also got the same behavior with the finishing operation.

If you look in the tool properties, there are some hardcoded depths placed into the tool itself. Take a look at this image. The stepdowns and stepovers placed into the tool will take precedence over the values you place in the operations.

That should fix you up.

Oh i think that was the problem thx! I will test it tomorrow but im sure you are right.
