2018 partmaker back turn problem

I'm trying to back turn a internal bore and I am fighting with partmaker. it allows me to build a back turn tool. and I can create a good finish pass using contour cycle. my problem is trying to rough using a back turn, it shoots my tool into the part before going to the start point. I have tried playing with the user defined cutting point numbers, but that doesn't change it. I'm thinking there is a bug in the software. take a look at the attached pictures.

let me know if there is a work around

Have you tried adding approach/escape points to the front of the bore ?
