What feature is accociated with a selected curve or geometry?

How can we know what feature is associated with a certain curve or piece of geometry?

If the feature is shown then it's easy enough to see, however when there are many features or they are not shown on the screen then we can't tell the association between geometry and feature.

The preview is helpful when you roll the mouse over the features but it would be nice to be able to select a curve or piece of geometry and easily figure out the features associated with it.

Hi @jeff.brower,

Thanks for posting in the Autodesk FeatureCAM forum.

Please find attached a simple macro, which will provide some of the info you are looking for.

It currently cycles through all features and the stock to see if the curves are used.

It should work in all Milling, Turning and WireEDM.

In its current state, it has a few limitations;

It only takes into account the curves that describe the feature profile, not additional curves such as;
- Cross Section Curves
- Stock Curves
It doesn't recognise Face Feature curves
