.fmp file load-how to

Hello, from what I understand the .fmp file is to load tool path so I don't have to re simulate every time I reopen the .FM document. I'm wondering how do I get this to actually work?

I've tried clicking on the .fmp file alone, I get no response, I open my .FM document and cant seem to find how to import or use the .fmp file with my part document.

I'm not sure, but I think the fm -file are linked to the fmp -file if you use this option, so if there are calculated toolpath then the fm -file will read this when you open the project.

Thank you for your reply. I understand the saving options, but after I save then close the document, my toolpaths do not automatically import with after reopening the document.

"Save computed toolpath — For certain parts, generating toolpaths can be time-consuming and you may want to save them for the next time you open a part. The setting of Save computed toolpath controls the default behavior for saving toolpaths. Select from Always save, Never save, or Ask me to be prompted each time you save a part. The toolpath is saved as an .fmp file.

Note: This is different than saving the NC text file that the NC machine reads. Instead you are saving the FeatureCAM internal toolpath representation. If you upgrade to a newer version of FeatureCAM, the toolpath is disregarded and recomputed".

So that I understand, Im currently using version 2019.1.2.0017 so If I try saving the internal tool paths of my documents using the .fmp way, it does nothing and I will always need to recompute tool paths?

In my experience the * .fmp contains the editing attributes, tools, arrangements and other settings for the project * .fm. Toolpaths are not saved. These are only recreated by simulating again. If you always want to use the same toolpaths, you will have to go to the process manager on manual order. You can only open the * .fm. The * .fmp is linked to the * .fm and reads the data from the * .fmp. If there is no * .fmp in the same folder, the attributes etc are read in again and should you save a new * .fmp will be created. Just try it yourself. Sincerely, Mathias Beyer

Nach meinen Erfahrungen beinhaltet die * .fmp die Bearbeitungsattribute, Werkzeuge, Anordnungen und sonstige Einstellungen für das Projekt * .fm. Werkzeugwege werden nicht gespeichert. Diese werden erst durch erneutes simulieren wieder erzeugt. Willst du immer die gleichen Werkzeug-Wege musst du im Prozess-Manager auf manuelle Anordnung umbedingt gehen. Öffnen kannst du nur die * .fm. Die * .fmp ist verknüpft mit der * .fm und liest die Daten aus der *.fmp. Ist im gleichen Ordner keine *.fmp vorhanden werden die Attribute usw neu eingelesen und solltest du speichern wird eine neue *.fmp erzeugt. Einfach selber mal testen.
