Thread milling

I have a part that I need to thread mill some holes into it. The thread mills that we use here have a endmill on the end of it so I do not have to drill a hole. I just run the thread mill into the hole and it bores it and threads it at the same time. Doing it this way I have to run the spindle in reverse and the thread mill has to start at the top down going counter clock wise. I can figure out how to get Featurecam to do this. Does anyone have any ideas?

What type of tool you use? HITACHI thread mill or?

Yes, I use hitachi. Thank You that works. I ran one hole and I had to comp it back about .005". I had the right size dia on the tool but it went a little big. I put in a 1/4-20 hole. That is the only problem that I had.

I am trying to learn to use a Hitachi 1/4-20 thread miil / tap also.

(I am COMPLETELY NEW to thread milling)

Question:

What do I do with this .fm file ? Save it where?

Well I failed to realize in my "search", that your post is in "FeatureCam", not "Fusion 360".

I'm guessing that is why I cannot figure this out. my bad.

I don't suppose you have any experience with doing this in Fusion?

I would try this settings.

Remember to set the pitch, this is for mm.
