5-axis simultaneous machining - surface/toolpath problem

Trying to make toolpath for part using flowline but hawing problems keeping it all as a one continuous path.

Tool is retracting at some points and skipping parts of the surface.

Any thought or ideas on this?

hi what you're doing just need to be done with a curve wrapped around your index axis,

just take a toolpath like pocket or side

I would actually just use an 'Isoline' toolpath with the five-axis set to 'To-line', pointing to a line running down the middle of your part - essentially just functioning as an index axis.

Alternatively, you could use an unwrapped curve tangent to the OD of your part that, when wrapped, runs along the top centerline of that recess. Then you would just add a bottom radius to your groove. I would try to get surfacing to work first before you go that route, but that's just my personal preference.
