Can't post NC on older 2013-2014 FCam

The guys in the shop are operating on older versions of FCam, 2013-14 (old dongle version), and they just came to me with a problelm. When they try to post code, the program locks up, makes it to 67-68% and freezes. Any ideas what to look for here? This computer doesn't have permissions granted as I have on my computer, so I'm limited to what I can do without getting IT involved. I tried to switch post processors to one that I've used in the past but it busted me with a permission warning. Thanks for any ideas.

Apparently it has been working fine, but has now just stopped and will not process code.

Troubleshooting those older versions can be tough. I would recommend trying a reset of the .ini, and possibly even running FeatureCAM as admin (right-click program > run as administrator).

These are the two most common troubleshooting methods for FeatureCAM, that consistently correct all sorts of weird behavior with the program.

I would give those a try and see if you have any luck. It's also worth noting that over the years, I have seen issues here and there with using posts stored on a network. It could be worth making sure the machines are posting to a .cnc file on a local directory.

Have you tried posting with a generic post from that version of FeatureCAM.

You can find them here.....C:\Program Files\Autodesk\FeatureCAM XXXX\Posts

Since you are using a dongled version of FeatureCAM, are you able to save the FM file? Just making sure that the license file is still being recognized. If it is not, it will place you in demonstration mode and you will not be able to save.

Thanks Kelbie and Chris. I was just now able to reboot, then create a new file on that version, FCam file that is, and it processed the NC code I was wanting. I'm not sure, but I think the original FCam file they created could have been corrupted somehow, and possibly affected the post processor somehow. Anyway, I told them to label that FCam file as corrupt and re-create it. Thanks!

Well, it only worked for the simple file that I created. Not on the new one that they created again with a little more complexity. It seemed to be an issue with one newly created tool in the crib. So I had to re-initialize the ezfm.ini file anyway, and that seems to have remedied the issue. Thanks again guys!
